Lone Star Senior Care connects families with independent caregivers. We are not a home care agency. All caregivers are 1099 contractors who are vetted but not employed by Lone Star Senior Care. Clients and caregivers enter into direct agreements. Lone Star Senior Care does not handle payments, provide supervision, or assume liability for services rendered.

• You are self-employed, so no taxes are withheld from your payments.
• You are responsible for reporting your income and paying:
○ Self-employment tax
○ Federal income tax
• You’ll use the W-9 form to report income and may receive a 1099 form if you earn $600+ from any client.
Tip: Consider a bookkeeping app or speak with a tax preparer before tax season.
• Directly by your clients—we don’t touch your money.
• Common methods: Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, cash, or check.
• You and the client agree on payment method and schedule (weekly, bi-weekly, etc.).
Yes. You choose which opportunities you accept.
We simply connect you with clients based on:

We encourage you to record a short 30–60 second video introducing yourself:

• Helps clients feel confident before meeting you.
• It’s optional—but it boosts your chances of getting matched faster.
• You are in control, but if a dispute arises, we can offer basic mediation.
• We do not act as a collection agency.
• We’re here to help guide and support you in setting professional boundaries and managing expectations.
Do I need experience to join?
No. Many of our caregivers are newly certified. What matters most is professionalism, reliability, and willingness to learn.
What happens if I need help with technology (e.g., Zoom interview, submitting forms)?
We’ve got you. We offer tech support if you get stuck with video uploads, forms, or client communication.
What kind of caregiving tasks are expected?
